ULI Young Leaders members had the opportunity to attend an exciting event on March 29, 2023 – a site tour of the Varso Tower, the tallest building in the European Union, with Krzysztof Górnicki representing Foster & Partners who designed the building. He shared with us his insights and stories from the process of creating this impressive structure.
We were joined by a group of students from the University of California, Berkeley, who are doing their masters in Real Estate Development and Design. Berkeley students’ visit is part of a joint project of the UC Berkeley MREDD (Masters of Real Estate Development and Design) program and the Office of Architecture and Planning of the City of Warsaw. The project was initiated and coordinated by Kuba Snopek / Direction.
The tour was organized by HB Reavis, a European office developer with a people-centric approach to their unique workplaces. They have delivered over 1.5 million sqm of workspace in various countries including the UK, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
At 310 meters, Varso Tower – the tallest building in the European Union with an area of 70,000 sq m spread over 53 floors – is a project that they are particularly proud of. The opportunity to get a tour from Krzysztof Górnicki was definitely a unique experience. The tour included a visit to the panoramic terrace at the top of the building, as well as a comprehensive look at the design and construction of the building.
After the tour we had the opportunity to network with other professionals in the industry during the Young Professionals in Real Estate Investments Drinks event at Fabryka Norblina.
Overall, it was an exciting and informative afternoon and opportunity to see a building of this magnitude up close and learn from its creators was truly unforgettable.
Thank you to HB Reavis and Foster & Partners for this wonderful treat!
