Urban Supply Chain Council - October 2023
ESG temperature check: how long is the road to seeing actual impact?
The ULI Poland Urban Living Product Council meeting co-chaired by Dorota Wysokinska-Kuzdra from Colliers and Maximilan Mendel from Zeitgeist, took place on 25 October.
Michal Witkowski from Colliers presented trends on the residential market in Poland in last 12 months.
Katarzyna Przybylska from Habitat for Humanity Poland presented possible ways of engaging the private sector in the provision of affordable housing.
We discussed the current residential market evolution and the topic of housing affordability. The affordability is and will be even bigger issue judging by current supply-demand imbalance. However, it looks like that there are already few tools, which can be developed further to help deal with the affordability. But in order to make the living a right for everybody not just privilege for part of the society, co-operation between public and private is a must. On very positive side participants from private sectors were open to share their view how in easy way the co-operation could be beneficial for all stakeholders.
During the Product Council meeting we could also hear the experience from Czech Republic were the lack of affordability is really challenging.
Last but not least we discussed current financial market conditions. Representatives of banks acting in Poland shared their views on the market and financing possibilities for living projects.
Please share any ideas for next council meeting with the co-chairs.
