    With health safety in mind, 2020 ULI Poland Conference went virtual.

    2020 ULI Poland Virtual Conference "CLIMATE. CAPITAL. CITIES. PEOPLE - Has COVID-19 changed the course?" consisted of 5 webinars held over the course of 2,5 weeks. It started on 23 June and continued on Tuesdays and Thursdays through 7 July. Each webinar lasted for one hour, from 3 pm to 4 pm CEST.

    Our international keynote speakers connected remotely to deliver a high-quality e-conference. Its programme was also updated to reflect the topical impact of #COVID19 on the climate, capital, cities and people.

    Pawel Debowski

    Dentons

    Paweł Dębowski is a partner in Dentons’ Warsaw office and the Chairman of the European Real Estate Group. He is one of the most widely recognized and respected real estate professionals in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. In professional practice for almost 30 years, he was involved in structuring real estate investments in Poland back in the early days of the free market economy. Paweł advises institutional clients and major international companies operating in Poland - investors, developers, lenders and construction companies. Paweł’s area of specialization covers sales and acquisitions, financing and investment projects in the real estate market, mainly in the office, retail, logistics and hospitality sectors in CEE.

    Martin Barry

    reSITE

    Martin is the Founder & CEO of Manifesto Market, and Founder & Chairman of reSITE. His work has been published widely in The New York Times, The Atlantic Citylab, Forbes, Monocle Magazine, Dezeen, Designboom, among dozens of others. He has been awarded in Europe and North America across three industries: landscape architecture, retail real estate development and event planning. Manifesto Market, the “Mastercard Retail Project of the Year” is an internationally recognized food and culture market opened in 2018 in the center of Prague, Czech Republic (EU) with global expansion plans underway. reSITE is a nonprofit organization focused on improving the quality of life in cities, with its main activities in experience design and events in Europe and the United States. reSITE was awarded “Event of the Year” in 2018 by the Czech Event Awards. As a landscape architect, Martin has led multi-disciplinary teams on complex urban projects in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He is the 2016 recipient of the President’s Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), and his projects at W Architecture have received dozens of design awards in North America. He is a Fulbright Scholar and a Fellow with the Design Trust for Public Space in New York.

    Piotr Mirowski

    Partner, Head of Investment, Colliers International

    Piotr Mirowski, in the capacity of senior partner and head of investment services, is responsible for supervision, management and business growth of the capital markets team in Poland. His range of responsibilities includes strategic real estate advisory, origination, structuring and execution of property sale and acquisition transactions, overseeing underwriting and commercial due diligence, participation in commercial negotiations of sale and purchase contracts and transaction management. Piotr has been instrumental in successful closings of numerous high-profile investment transactions (both sell-side and buy-side) across all main real estate asset classes with a cumulative volume in excess of €8 billion, including domestic and cross-border corporate, platform and asset deals for clients such as: Blackstone, Skanska, Invesco, KanAm, Vastint, Union Investment, Hines, Deka Immobilien, KGAL, ISOC, Generali, Immofinanz, Griffin, PIMCO, Oaktree, and DWS. Piotr has been with Colliers since 2006 and his previous professional experience includes Deloitte’s audit department. In 2014, Piotr became an equity partner in the firm. He is a member of Urban Land Institute.

    Lee Timmins

    CEO, Eurasia Region, Hines Europe Ltd

    Mr. Timmins is the Chief Investment Officer of the Hines Asia Pacific Region and CEO of Eurasia Region. He serves on the firm’s Executive Committee and is a member of the Hines global Investment Committee. Since joining Hines in 1988, he has been instrumental in leading Hines’ start-up and growth in a number of international markets as well as establishing and deploying development and acquisition funds including the HCR Long Term Hold Fund, Hines India Fund, Hines India Residential Fund, Hines Poland Sustainable Income Fund, and the Hines Russia & Poland Fund. Mr. Timmins’ past experience includes over twenty-five years managing and investing in international markets through his previous role as CEO of the Hines Eurasia Region. Mr. Timmins has experience in developing and investing in office, residential, retail, and logistics projects across numerous Asian and European markets. Mr. Timmins received a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. In 2011, Mr. Timmins was selected as Person of the Year by the commercial real estate community during the Commercial Real Estate Moscow Awards.
